1. Initial Request Submission:
   • Ship agents, operators, or owners submit a waste collection request.
   • The “Waste Request Form” is completed and submitted to the designated waste collection center.
2. Determination of Waste Collection Requirements:
   • Based on the submitted form, the type and quantity of waste are evaluated.
   • Appropriate waste collection vessels are assigned to handle the request.
3. Fee Calculation and Payment:
   • The waste collection center calculates the fee for the service based on the type and quantity of waste.
   • The agent deposits the required fee and sends proof of payment to the waste collection center.
4. Waste Collection Operations:
   • The assigned waste collection vessel retrieves the waste from the ship.
   • The Ministry of Environment issues a “Waste Transfer Form” for documentation purposes.
5. Waste Segregation and Processing:
   • Waste is categorized according to MARPOL annexes:
     • MARPOL Annex I (Petroleum-Based Waste):
       • Bilge water, sludge, waste oil, slop, and oily ballast water are transferred to the Haydarpaşa Waste Reception Facility for processing.
     • MARPOL Annex IV (Sewage):
       • Sewage is treated at the ISKI Wastewater Treatment Facility.
     • MARPOL Annex V (Garbage):
       • Solid garbage is sent to licensed storage or disposal facilities.
     • Industrial Waste:
       • Temporary industrial waste is transferred to the Komurcuoda facility for appropriate disposal or recycling.
6. Final Disposal:
   • Treated waste or non-recyclable materials are directed to the relevant facilities for permanent disposal or storage in accordance with environmental regulations.
