Turkish Shipyards Performance as of 2024

Over the past two decades, Türkiye’s shipyard handling capacity has grown significantly from 0.55 million DWT in 2003 to 4.79 million DWT by September 2024. The early years saw moderate increases, with a notable jump in 2005 to 1.40 million DWT. This upward trend continued, with substantial growth in 2008, reaching 3.05 million DWT.

From 2009 to 2014, the capacity steadily climbed, peaking at 3.67 million DWT. A more pronounced rise occurred from 2015 to 2020, culminating at 4.65 million DWT. Since then, capacity has increased gradually, stabilizing at 4.79 million DWT in 2023 and remaining steady into September 2024.
